The Ex was a Nightmare

Never ever ever EVER go to the EX with a pregnant woman on a hot hot labour day. All I have to say is WOW we are lucky to have left with our sanity. Let me start from the begining.(this could take a wile)

First of all, the move went quite well. We had a lot of awesome friends come and help and everything went pritty much glitch free. Minus one hyperactive ex-land lady mind you.(that my friends is a whole other blog post however if you wanna hear this amusing story you'll have to ask me privatly) Our new apartment is in need of a GOOD scrubbing and there are boxes everywhere BUT we are IN and that is that. Everyone stayed for a Pizza Party after and we all had a blast(after the hard work was over)

So my parents came to help, Sunday night they stayed in Hamilton with Doug and Ruth, but last night they stayed on our Sofa bed because they have an appointment in toronto this morning. But they left the van for us sunday night because there was no need to take TWO cars back to Hamilton when they were comming back to our place the next day. Sweet... a car to do all our running around in...we could spend monday buying Curtians, paint, cleaning supplies, get our shopping done, pick ip the NEW crib because the old one is missing parts, buy the AC we need...great...oh..wait....all the stores are closed it was Labour Day.

Well that's not so bad, we went out for breakfast instead. Then went home and unpacked a bit. Had to meed a friend for lunch and then we all three decided to meet my parents and inlaws at the EX...and spend some time running around there too wile we were at it. So we get there, and the line up is around the block...my eyes buldge out of my head. NEVER have I had to wait in line at the EX before...let alone wait an hour.

But THEN someone came by and gave Kim a gold wrist band...wahoo free admission. And a freind called and told her he had two extra tickets. So after we had waited in line an hour we get out of line wile kim slips in the gate to get out tickets....an hour later no kim, no tickets, and my friend and I sunburnt in the blistering heat. To make a long story short, Kim couldn't find where to meet our friend, and it ended up being a lot further than she thought. Our friend was an hour late due to parking and by the time we all got togher Kim was upset and wanted to go home, I was sunburnt and sweating like a hog, and my friend was quite ready to retreat back to the safty of Ottawa. My parents were finished what they had to do and we left with out a second thought. All in all the Ex was just a nightmare we are quite glad to be done with.

Next year, we shall not go on Labour Day.

Sorry you had such a bad time. It was crowded and I could understand why Kim would be uncomfortable with all the walking and the hot sun. I did enjoy myself watching the air show with your dad. We had a great time. I ate two icecreams. One carnival cone (waffle cone with baked chocolate cake in the middle topped with soft ice cream) and one ice cream waffle. Brings back childhood memories of the EX. Free pizza for lunch thanks to some friends who used to attend our church we bumped into in the food building. Great dinner cooked by your mom back at your new appt. All in all it was a great weekend! I even enjoyed moving you, landlady and all. She was a bit hyper, but I think she moved half the basement out to the driveway herself and provided chips and cheese and water to boot!
Hope everyone is feeling better now.
